The Meaning of Beltane
Beltane, traditionally observed on May 1st in the Northern Hemisphere, marks the midway point between the spring equinox and the summer solstice. This ancient Celtic festival is steeped in rich symbolism, signaling the height of spring and the beginning of summer. It's a time when nature bursts forth with vitality, and the world is ablaze with new life and growth.
At its core, Beltane is a fire festival, where bonfires are lit to honor the sun and encourage its warmth and light to bless the land. The flames serve as a focal point for community gatherings, where people come together to dance, sing, and revel in the joy of the season. Fire has long been regarded as a purifying and transformative element, capable of burning away the old to make way for the new. During Beltane, these fires symbolize the spark of creativity and the passion that fuels our dreams and desires.
Beltane Prosperity Magic
One of the enchanting aspects of Beltane is its association with prosperity magic. As the earth awakens from its slumber and bursts forth with abundance, so too can we tap into this fertile energy to manifest our own prosperity and abundance in various aspects of our lives. Whether it's financial wealth, emotional fulfillment, or spiritual growth, Beltane offers a potent opportunity to set intentions and work magic to attract prosperity into our lives.
Performing prosperity magic during Beltane involves harnessing the energy of the season, connecting with the earth's abundant vitality, and channeling it towards our goals and desires. Rituals may involve crafting charms or talismans, lighting candles, and engaging in visualization or meditation practices to align ourselves with the flow of abundance. By working in harmony with the natural rhythms of the earth and tapping into the collective energy of celebration and renewal, we can amplify the potency of our intentions and enhance our ability to manifest prosperity in all its forms.
Abundance Drawing Honey Jar Spell
Honey jars are meant to sweeten and entice the universe towards your wishes.
What you’ll need:
• Glass jar with metal lid (small Mason jars work great)
• Honey (any honey will work – however best if you can find locally sourced honey)
• Money drawing herbs such as: basil, peppermint, cinnamon, nutmeg
• Small piece of paper + pen
• Green votive, chime or tapered candles (small or medium sized)
• Lighter or matches
Performing the spell:
1. Take the piece of paper and write your wish four times in a row. This could be a dollar amount (write the words of the number rather than the numbers) or a word such as “prosperity” or “money.”
2. While thinking of your wish, fill the jar halfway with honey. As you pour, think of the honey as the abundance you wish to fill your life with.
3. Fold the piece of paper nine times, then drop it into the jar of honey, then as you keep your thoughts on the purpose of the jar, sprinkle some of the money drawing herbs into the jar on top.
4. Put the lid on the jar and make sure the seal is tight and close securely.
5. With your lighter or matches, melt the bottom of the candle and drip some of the wax on the center top of the jar lid, then place the candle into the melted wax so the candle is affixed to the lid (hold it steady until the wax cools and the candle is set).
6. Light the candle. As the the flame burns, say aloud the wish you wrote down. Close your eyes and visualize having what you desire.
7. Let the candle burn down completely.
8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 again, placing another green candle on top of the jar and lighting it once a week for the next 4 weeks. Let the candle wax melt and encase
the honey jar.
As we dance around the Beltane fires and bask in the warmth of the season, let us remember the power that lies within us to create the life we desire.
